Click here for a chance to WIN a Harley-Davidson® Motorcycle! "Star Trek" vet Jonathan Frakes will direct a live-action feature version of "Thunderbirds," the British TV series that used puppets/models in a process trademarked as "supermarionation."
Premise of the 1960s series revolved around an international rescue team including astronaut Jeff Tracy and his five sons. Assisting the family was their London agent, Lady Penelope, her Cockney ex-convict driver, Parker, and the Tracys' houseguest, Brains.
The Universal project is aiming for an early 2003 start.
Frakes, best known as Commander William Riker on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," also directed and co-starred in "Star Trek: Insurrection" and "Star Trek: First Contact."
